Human development can be understood and cultivated.

We investigate how the experiences, resources, and relationships that promote well-being come to be lifelong human capacities.

SALUTOGENESIS

A new understanding of health and human development.

Our approach is inspired by salutogenesis, the science that studies how people build and strengthen their health and well-being throughout their lives. To understand these processes and measure transformation, WHI combines developmental science and artificial intelligence.

  • This knowledge opens the door to a new generation of decisions, experiences, and innovations aimed at developing the human capacities that sustain mental well-being.
  • Teachers feel more and more overwhelmed.
  • Packed curricula leave little room for creativity.
  • It's hard to keep the day-to-day going with enthusiasm.

Understanding human development is a game-changer.

It transforms the way we educate, care for others, and create the conditions that enable well-being throughout life.

When research is placed at the service of life

We collaborate with adolescents, schools, universities, and professionals to understand how to support young people in developing the skills that enable them to achieve sustained mental well-being. We continue to research, learn, and build together with those who believe that a different approach to education and care is possible.

Read our vision
Why do we start with adolescence?

Adolescence, the time where we can generate a major long-term impact.

We investigate the period in which human development is most dynamic and where resources that promote health can generate the greatest long-term impact. Understanding how these resources become lasting human capabilities allows us to generate the scientific evidence and models that will serve to understand, measure, and foster human development across the lifespan.

01

Salutogenic Assets

We investigate how these resources are transformed into lasting human capacities.

04

Lasting mental well-being

We study the processes that build lasting mental well-being, understand how they develop, and guide actions before problems arise

Intelligence for Human Development and Well-Being IN ADOLESCENTS, FAMILIES, AND SCHOOLS
02

The adolescent experience

We create experiences that unlock potential, strengthen relationships, and build lifelong skills

03

Advanced measurement (BHI)

We transform data into knowledge to understand and promote development and well-being, and to make decisions that have a greater impact

TRUST THAT DRIVES US

Building alongside those who drive change and transformation.

Over the past few years we've worked with institutions, universities, schools, researchers, and organizations committed to adolescent wellbeing.

We bring together knowledge, technology, and purpose to build healthier environments for our young people.

OBSERVED RESULTS

When we understand human development, well-being ceases to depend on heroics.

When resources that promote health are understood, mobilized, and integrated, well-being becomes part of the development process itself.

How does the WHI Institute framework help? The WHI Institute framework provides a common framework to understand our center's needs. Therefore, we make decisions using real data. Consequently, today we work with much greater clarity and foresight. This allows our team to plan ahead and improve overall student outcomes effectively.

I now have concrete tools to foster emotional well-being in the classroom naturally and adapted to my group. Best of all, the students truly experience it.

Managing student stress became much easier once I learned to understand my feelings and handle daily pressure. Therefore, these practical school activities proved highly useful, helping me navigate challenges both inside and outside of the classroom environment.

We can't decide the lives our adolescents will lead.

But we can walk alongside them, shape their development, and inspire them with experiences that empower them to build a life of purpose, health, and mental wellbeing.

For years we've been researching, learning, and building alongside schools, families, and institutions committed to their future.
